RANKNET

Privacy policy

Ranknet is built to work without knowing who you are. This page describes exactly what is stored, what is not, and for how long.

Data controller

  • The controller is DIGITAL FUTURE ENTERPRISE S.A.S., registered at Carrera 16 # 55-08, OnePot Coworking, Office 222, Bogotá D.C., Colombia. Full identification details are in the Legal notice.
  • To exercise your rights or raise any privacy matter, write to pqr@digitalfuture.com.co

What we store about visitors

  • To count visitors we store only the hash of a random identifier generated by the site itself, along with when it was first and last seen. That identifier does not come from you or your device: the server invents it.
  • We do not store your IP address, user agent, browsing path, or location.
  • Clicks on listings are counted in aggregate, per listing and per hour. We do not store who clicked, from where, or in what order.
  • We use your IP address in memory and transiently to rate-limit requests and curb abuse. It is never written to disk or retained.

What we store about payers

  • Payments are processed by PayPal. Your card or PayPal account details never pass through Ranknet and are not stored here.
  • For each bid we store the listing, the amounts, the status, the date, and the order and capture identifiers PayPal returns.
  • For the events PayPal sends us we store the type, its identifier, and a hash of the content — not the content. That hash exists so the same payment is never applied twice; it cannot be reversed to recover data.
  • We do not store your name, email, address, or any other personal detail of the payer, and we never publish them alongside a listing.

What is public

  • The link or profile you submit, the displayed name, the category, the confirmed bid amount, the rank, and the aggregate clicks are public: they are the product.
  • If the link you publish contains personal data of yours, that data becomes public because you submitted it for publication.

Cookies

  • ranknet_visitor: random identifier for the visitor count. It is httpOnly and lasts one year.
  • ranknet_locale and ranknet_theme: remember the language and theme you chose.
  • ranknet_admin_session: created only when signing in to the site's administration.
  • We use no advertising, profiling, or third-party cookies, and we load no external analytics.

Who it is shared with

  • With PayPal, to process the charge. PayPal handles your data as an independent controller under its own policies.
  • With the hosting provider, to the technical extent needed to serve the site.
  • We do not sell, rent, or hand data to anyone else, and we do not run profile-based advertising.

How long it is kept

  • Bid and payment records are kept as long as needed to handle claims, accounting obligations, and legal retention periods.
  • Published listings are kept while they remain on the board.
  • Visitor counts and aggregate clicks are kept cumulatively, already without any identity attached.

Your rights

  • Under Colombian Law 1581 of 2012 and its implementing rules, you may access, update, correct, and delete your data, and withdraw consent where applicable.
  • To exercise them, write to pqr@digitalfuture.com.co. We will respond within the applicable legal timeframes.
  • Note that much of what we store is not tied to an identifiable person, so we may be unable to link a record to you without additional information you provide.
  • You may also lodge a complaint with the Superintendencia de Industria y Comercio.
